2014 Annual Meeting

Denver Community Credit Union held its 79th Annual Meeting on February 27th, 2014.  We had a great turnout, and thank everyone that attended.  At the Annual Meeting, members got to hear about some of the plans and initiatives of the credit union for the year to come, as well as the credit union's performance in 2013.  The meeting focused on "Credit Union Difference" - what makes credit unions so unique in the financial industry.   From our not-for-profit status, to our member-oriented service culture, we truly believe that Denver Community Credit Union (along with all credit unions) makes an impact in the communities we serve.  To read this year's annual report, please click the link below.

2013 Christmas Crusade

Written by

Denver Community Credit Union was the proud Hotline Sponsor for the second year in a row of KYGO’s Christmas Crusade, a fantastic program that was organized in 1984 by a small group of “Santa Cops.”  Each year sheriff and police officers across the metro area work to spread the joy of Christmas to thousands of underprivileged children.  Officers meet and select these children during their work in their communities throughout the year.  KYGO’s Christmas Crusade gave all of us the chance to help these "Santa Cops" bring joy into many households in our local area by donating toys or money to the cause.

This year, thanks to our wonderful members and people from the community, we were able to raise over $2,000 in addition to toy donations.  All the donations go directly towards the purchase of toys and gifts for underprivileged children in the Denver Metro area.

To see how the Christmas Crusade for Children shopping day went, please visit our Facebook page by clicking here.

This is just one example of how great credit union members and members of the community were at supporting the Christmas Crusade.  This was just one example.  Every donation no matter how large or small makes all the difference!

Rooting Down, Rising UP

Written by

Denver Community Credit Union continually strives to be involved in our community.  One way we participated with our community this month was by helping to sponsor the Colorado Anti-Violence Program's annual Rooting Down, Rising Up fundraiser, which was on October 22nd.  The Colorado Anti-Violence Program has been dedicated for the past 27 years to ending violence within and against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities in Colorado by providing high quality services to survivors of violence.  As a sponsor of the annual fundraiser, Denver Community Credit Union was able to reach out to over 250 guests at the sold out event.

It was a really great, touching event to see what the Colorado Anti-Violence Program does for the community.  For more information about the Colorado Anti-Violence Program, visit their website.

Boo at the Zoo

Written by

October was a very busy, but very fun month for Denver Community.  One of the best things we got to do was participate in Boo at the Zoo!  From October 25th through October 26th, Denver Community Credit Union was armed with candy and ready to see everyone's costume.  Boo at the Zoo is an annual event where multiple businesses and organizations come together at the Denver Zoo to provide children with a fun and safe trick-or-treating environment.  While we were handing out goodies we were able to tell people about our involvement with Children's Miracle Network's Miracle Marathon.  We helped sponsor the Miracle Marathon as part of Credit Unions Across Colorado.  For more information about the Miracle Marathon, click here.

Miracle Marathon

Written by

Denver Community Credit Union was excited to be part of the Children's Miracle Network Miracle Marathon.  Credit Unions Across Colorado helped sponsor the Marathon, which is a 27.2-day virtual fundraising in which participants run/walk (or achieve forward motion) one mile per day for 27 days.   It started October 1st and ended October 27th, 2013.  The final day was for the kids.  All participants in the Miracle Marathon completed an extra mile at the same time on October 27th.  The Miracle Marathon helps support our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital - Children's Hospital Colorado.

One place Denver Community Credit Union team members liked to move their mile, was James Bible Park!

It is still not too late to donate, visit www.miraclemarathon.org for more information about the Marathon and about Children's Miracle Network.

Denver Community Credit Union is thrilled to announce that we were the runner up for the Mountain West Credit Union Association's Community Impact Award for our work on the Annual Back to School Fair!  The Credit Union Community Impact Award is given to a credit union program that has positively affected the community in the Arizona, Colorado, or Wyoming credit union movement.  The award went to Desert Schools Federal Credit Union in Arizona.  Congratulations to them!  The work that is done with these credit union run programs demonstrates just part of the credit union difference.
