5 Buck Club

  • You must have a checking account with a debit card, have $500 or more deposited to your account with direct deposit, perform 15 or more debit card transactions, and be enrolled in estatements each qualification period.

  • Yes. You can receive $5 per month, up to $25 in out-of-network ATM fees per year, and up to $24 in PIN fees per year.

  • Nothing.  There is no penalty for not meeting the 5 Buck Club requirements.  You simply will not receive the $5 or other qualifying reimbursements.

Auto

  • Yes! Get preapproved by applying online, calling us, or coming into a branch. We recommend getting preapproved before you shop to make the buying process easier.

  • Up to one business day.

  • Yes, you can borrow cash against your vehicle as long as you have equity in the vehicle, and qualify for the loan.

  • We offer terms up to 84 months. Please note the term of your loan may impact your rate.

  • Denver Community Credit Union requires all vehicles financed to carry auto insurance coverage with a $1,000 deductible or less where Denver Community Credit Union is named as the lienholder. Insurance coverage is routinely checked. If it is indicated that your insurance has lapsed or your coverage has dropped from the acceptable level, the credit union has the right to place Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) on your vehicle.  This is an added monthly fee that is charged until proof of insurance, loss payable and deductible are provided to the credit union.

  • Collateral Protection Insurance is coverage that protects against physical damage and protects the credit union’s interest in your vehicle (your loan’s collateral).

Your signed loan documents give Denver Community Credit Union the right to force-place CPI on your vehicle when coverage has lapsed.  To avoid CPI, it is important to inform your insurance provider to name Denver Community Credit Union as the “Loss Payee/Lienholder” on your policy.  To mail insurance verification, please use the following address:

    Denver Community Credit Union
    1075 Acoma St.
    Denver, CO 80204

CPI is not a substitute for finding your own insurance.  It is often much more expensive than auto insurance you would find from typical providers.  CPI does not provide protection for third-party bodily harm or injury, or to other property.  CPI only protects the vehicle as the collateral of the loan. If you are in need of insurance or would like to shop around for a better deal, check out Trustage to get a free quote.

To provide proof of insurance, please visit any branch location.  If you received a letter about missing insurance or a lack of insurance coverage, you can provide proof of insurance electronically by visiting https://imcovered.com/dccu.

If you would like to mail, email or fax your proof of insurance:

    Mail:
    PO Box 692130
    San Antonio, TX 78269-21

    Email: [email protected]

  • GAP is Guaranteed Asset Protection and is often added or sold at the time of loan closing.  It covers the difference between what insurance covers and the amount you owe on your loan should your vehicle be totaled.  Even the best insurance may not cover the entire amount you owe on an auto loan.  In fact, if the average new car owner has his or her vehicle stolen or damaged beyond repair, they could still owe thousands of dollars after the insurance settlement. GAP will help fill the remaining balance of your loan and what insurance pays.  Plus with Denver Community’s GAP Advantage, you’ll get back on the road more quickly with a $1,000 allowance to finance a replacement vehicle with us.

To learn more about GAP Advantage, call 303-573-1170 or use our contact form.

*Guaranteed Asset Protection is considered insurance coverage in some states.

Your purchase of GAP is optional.  Whether or not you purchase GAP will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any existing credit agreement you have with the financial institution.  There are eligibility requirements, conditions, and exclusions that could prevent you from receiving benefits under GAP.  You should carefully read the contract for a full explanation of the terms.

  • Yes!  Major Mechanical Protection (MMP) from Denver Community Credit Union can help protect against the expense of future costly repairs.  The total cost of MMP is often far less than the cost of a single repair!  Pay for this protection once, and in most cases, you will not have to pay anything more than a small deductible should a breakdown occur. To learn more about MMP, call Denver Community Credit Union today at 303-573-1170.

  • No. Only the person(s) authorized to open the account should come in, or apply online. However, we still need the date of birth, social security number, (ID? What does this mean? ID #? Of a driver’s license?), and address of all of the owners of the business, even if they are not going to be signers on the account. Also, we required an operating agreement, incorporations agreement, minutes or partnership agreement indicating who is authorized to manage the business account with Denver Community.

  • We partner with Total Merchant Concepts (TMC). We will refer you to them and they will guide you on the best merchant option for your business needs.

  • All business accounts come with a debit card and your business name is embossed on the front of the card plus the signer’s name.

Cards

  • There is not a limit on PIN transactions. However, there is a $2 fee for each PIN transaction after the first 10 made per month. See our rates and fee schedule.

  • To request a new card, please send us a secure message in your online or mobile banking account, call us at 303-573-1170, or visit any of our branch locations.

  • Understanding your account and your spending habits best prevents overdraft fees. Plus, some accounts, like our Clear Card, don’t allow you to overdraw. You could also consider an overdraft line of credit (with approved credit), which can be a great way to avoid fees and pay bills. Call us, come to a branch, or contact us in mobile/online banking with any questions.

  • Contact for lost or stolen cards:

    303-573-1170
    Monday through Friday
    8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

    After Hours:

888-241-2510 (Toll Free Reporting Lost/Stolen Cards within the US)
909-941-1398 (Collect Calls Reporting Lost/Stolen cards outside the US)

  • Our Secured Credit Card is backed up by your savings account—that’s why it doesn’t require any existing credit to open. Here’s how it works:

    1. You set aside funds in a special savings account.
    2. The money you set aside determines your credit limit. So if you set aside $500, you’ll have a $500 credit limit.
    3. You make monthly payments, just like any other credit card.
    4. You build (or repair) your credit. Your on-time payments count towards your positive payment history, just like a regular credit card.

Checking

  • We do not give a free box of checks with a new checking account. If you would like to order a box of checks, you may ask any branch or contact center staff, or do so by visiting http://www.ordermychecks.com/login_a.jsp.

  • Our primary checking accounts do not have a monthly fee. However, we offer a Second Chance Checking account for those that do not qualify for our primary checking product; there is a $12 monthly fee for that account. View rates and fees here.

  • No. We don’t want our members to have to worry about keeping a minimum balance in their checking account.
